1. The Beginning and The End
2. The Law
3. History
4. Poetry
5. Major Prophets
6. Minor Prophets
7. Gospels
8. Acts
9. Paul's Letters to Churches
10. Paul's Letters to People
11. General Letters
12. Revelation
Themes and Purpose
Each drill verse reveals a letter for a hidden word in the focus scripture at the bottom of the page.
The focus scripture helps to teach the theme of that part or book of the Bible.
In addition, each drill verse is also a key verse that points to the theme or purpose
of that book of the Bible.
Ultimate Goal
My ultimate goal is for these drills to help students hide the Word of God in their hearts so the Holy Spirit can work in and through their lives.
The Holy Spirit is the teacher,
and God's Word always produces fruit.
Teacher Guide
Lesson Outline
1. Give basic instruction about what part of the Bible they will use to find the scriptures in the drill.
2. Let the students work independently or with guided practice to find the missing word for each scripture. Then, they can also fill in the blanks on the theme scripture.
3. Review the correct answers to fill in the blanks.
4. Look up each scripture together.
Use the Lesson page and surrounding Bible verses to learn more about the purpose and message of each scripture.
Discuss the theme verse and how it applies.
Note:
These lessons can be broken up and used as two shorter sessions.
For example - Complete steps 1 and 2 during one time frame, and then come back at a separate time for the application in steps 3 and 4.
Modifications
Tips for adjusting the lessons for age/ability levels
GUIDED PRACTICE

Level 2

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE
Level 3
Students work independently to find the verses
receiving help has needed.
Level 4
ONLY for a group of confident students when it seems appropriate
Students compete to see who can complete the verses first.
This is not appropriate for all groups
but is motivating for some.
