This verse is easy to memorize -- but a lot to remember!
1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
All for the - _________________
All for the - glory of God.
... do it all for the glory of God.
The verse begins with eating and drinking. So common. Inconsequential.
We all eat. We all drink. And essentially, just for selfish reasons.
We eat to survive, but even more so for satisfaction. It's a basic, daily task that is strictly for our own desires and well-being.
That's how most of our day is if we're honest. We spend most of our time seeking and choosing what we feel like or prefer.
All for the glory of God sounds good and Christian, but it's not normal life. It's not what we're actually doing most of the time. Naming eating and drinking addressed some specific things to the target audience in Corinth, but it also digs into our most basic tendencies.
God's glory is not readily our purpose. We know how to sing a worship song to His glory, but there's a whole lot of moments in a 24-hour day that we have made ourselves the lord over.
What would it look like to do it all for the glory of God?
This week - What is one small change you could make in your normal routine to redirect your attention to God's glory?
