This is one of those mirror verses*.
If you sit with it for a while, God will reveal things that need to change.
Don't get distracted by how you think it applies to others.
We all have wayward hearts.
Lean in to your first love and give Him all.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world - the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life - is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away long with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
