Sometimes God brings sudden revelation.
Like the shepherds - a Holy Host breaks through the dark.
You have an encounter, an unexpected blessing.
And you run to find Him.
Sometimes your search, your study, your real desire for Truth brings the revelation.
Like the wise men and a new star.
Then you seek the One.
You step - even journey - and He is there.
And you fall down and worship.

The wise men saw a truth - a fact. A star appeared, and it meant a king had been born. It was a fact they knew from their study. They journeyed to see him, to join the honor and celebration of new royalty - a king so great that a star had risen for him.
Arriving in Jerusalem . . .
no fanfare.
They asked about a new king, the new child, but no one knew. - "What king?"
King Herod was king, but not rightfully so. He was shaken. Was there a hidden plot? or trouble ahead? Maybe prophecy would intersect and insurrect? He felt threatened, so he acted with hate and deceit to protect himself.
The wise men learned that prophecy named Bethlehem so they continued their journey.
And then - the star.
They saw the star again, and their persistent hearts were led - straight to a home, quaint and small. A little family in an obscure place.
The wise men must have questioned the scenario they found, but the truth was still the truth.
The star told them this boy was king.
Somehow, no one seemed to know. Somehow, he was born poor and powerless.
But they responded to the truth.
They fell before him and worshiped.
They gave him gifts of honor.
They affirmed his mother's heart.
They showed faith.
They worshiped the King.

Sometimes it looks like Jesus is not King.
Circumstances don't reveal His authority.
Plenty of people seem to be in charge, but not Him.
It can be confusing, but it's not a mystery.
His complete rule is a promise not yet fulfilled.
There is a Kingdom, an eternal one, and we are invited in.
It's an invitation of choice and surrender. Of faith and obedience.
A King who is ruling hearts and changing lives.
A King who invites us to join and pray and share.
A King revealed to those who search for and believe Truth.
Will I still fall down?
Will I still worship?
Will I still give Him everything?
Even when
Even when it doesn't look like it should
Even when love doesn't win
Even when bad seems to triumph
Even when prayers aren't answered
Even when it's just not fair
Even when it feels like I'm the only one
Do I see the star?
And live like it's true?
Yes, Jesus is King!
When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
