Hope in the Night

The moon

Flying a perfect pathway with a heavenly glow,

full and complete -

but only because of the rays of something greater.

The moon has no glory of its own.

It's a spinning sphere with nothing to share,

but the Creator has set it on a course,

a path dialed to perfection.

Its radiance is simply a mirror of the sun's glory.

All the alignment and timing,

the tilts and rotations,

bring a revelation to the dark.

The Lord has charted a path for us

with a glory to experience and a glow to share.

So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. 2 Corinthians 3:18

With His guidance, we set the world aside

so that nothing veils us from His glory.

When we obey His path,

we remain in His presence.

Then He can position us as a beacon,

at the right moment for the right person,

shattering the night with the fullness of God.

This precision requires obedience.

Distractions of the world will alter our course

and slip a veil in between.

It's a narrow path, but our steps are lit by His word.

We are simply moons, a reflection,

a revelation of Love and Truth.

We are a vivid proof that Light is always stronger.

We can bring hope in the night that the "Son" still shines and will return.

This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 5:14

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:5-9

Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame. Isaiah 50:7

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5
