Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable are His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor? Or who has given a gift to Him that He might be repaid? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.
Romans 11:33-36
These verses are all about the awesomeness of God.
Three exclamations; three questions; and three statements that speak about the reason we should be in awe of Him.
Inscrutable - not readily investigated, interpreted, or understood
His ways are inscrutable.
Sometimes we back away, doubt, or shift our adoration because we don't understand what God is doing. Or we think He is slow, absent, or uncaring because of His timing or seeming inaction.
These verses emphasize that God should receive glory simply because He is God. He is awesome by nature, and He deserves to be praised for who He is.
We will never understand God's ways, and we will certainly never understand our circumstances better than God.
We can't understand, but we should always praise Him and trust that He is perfect in all things.
