Righteousness and Justice

When people forsake righteousness,

there is no justice.

Righteousness and justice cannot be separated.

We have abandoned a true, absolute, objective

righteousness and replaced it with personal choice.

We have decided that each person, each group

can determine their own right and wrong.

It wavers and wanes and assimilates to personal agendas.

There is no consistency, no plumb line, therefore

judgment is faulty and biased.

Our prideful pursuit to establish our own course has separated us

from the One who is Right and Just.

God is the only One who determines and demonstrates

the righteousness that sustains life and peace.

Justice is the upholding and keeping of what is right.

Justice acts based on the standard of righteousness.

God, in His purity, is the judge.

With our free will, we have forsaken righteousness.

We have chosen our own way.

Now we are left with the sorrow and pain of injustice.

There is an answer.

There is a hope.

Grace has broken through, joining our Father's love with His justice.

Grace has paid the debt for our unrighteousness through the sacrifice of Jesus.

God offers us new life, and therefore a new way to live. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Cor. 5:21

If you seek justice - If you seek change - Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and He will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33

Rise up, Church! You are the "salt of the earth". You are the "light of the world".

The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
